Beko ice maker not making ice
A lot of Beko French door models ship with the ice maker turned off, and a crossed-out ice cube on the display tells you it's off. After you turn it on and hook up water, the bin can take a day or two to fill. Still nothing after that? The cause is on the water side most of the time, meaning a closed valve, a kinked supply line, a clogged filter or a failed water inlet valve.
One section warm, or the temperature alarm is going
Most US Beko refrigerators are frost-free, so warm temperatures come from airflow or controls far more than from built-up frost. A stopped evaporator fan, a temperature sensor (thermistor) giving bad readings, or a control board fault can each let a section run warm. If the display shows a flashing freezer temperature alongside a red exclamation point, the freezer has been running warm.
When neither section cools, look deeper. Many Beko models use an inverter compressor, and the fault may be in the compressor, its drive electronics or the sealed system. Refrigerant work is for a licensed technician.
Noises you can ignore
Gurgling or spraying from refrigerant flow, fan noise and a short sound when the compressor kicks on are all normal. So are warm front edges and warm spots between the doors. That heat is there to prevent condensation.
Five things to check yourself
- Put a thermometer in a cup of water to check the real temperature. On French door models Beko recommends 39°F for the fridge and 5°F for the freezer, with colder settings if the room goes above 86°F.
- After a power outage, give the compressor about six minutes to restart by itself.
- Confirm the ice maker is on and the water supply valve is open.
- Replace the water filter when the filter icon lights, which works out to about every 130 days on French door models.
- Make sure the doors close and seal, and use Beko's manual to align them if they don't.
Where the model tag sits depends on the style. Look under the crisper drawers on French door models, halfway up the inner right wall on bottom-freezers, high on the inner left wall on top-freezers, and low on the inner left wall of the fridge side on side-by-sides.
Leaving a Florida house for the summer
In vacation mode the freezer keeps whatever temperature you set, while the fresh food side is allowed to rise to about 50°F. Shut off the ice maker and close the supply valve too, so a summer storm outage doesn't leave you with a leaking line.

Beko refrigerator has damaged ice maker and customer states the refrigerator has been running loudly and for extended periods at a time. Recommend ice maker replacement for damaged ice maker. Pulled refrigerator out. Checked condenser coil. Condenser coil is clear of restrictions. Compressor is running very hot to the touch. Compressor has service fitting. Found when compressor cycled on it is running very loud. Checked refrigerant charge and found is in a vacuum. Added small amount to get out of vacuum. Is still running very loud and compressor done is extremely hot to the touch. Suspect sealed system on the verge of failing. Due to cost of repairs customer will be replacing refrigerator.

Cx complaint was fridge was getting to warm and intermittently gets up to 44 degrees and freezer gets warmer. When I arrived unit was 0 in the freezer and 39 in fridge which is what it was set for. Tested to make sure fans were running and proper airflow. I called beko tech line and they said without it acting up right now, we cant actually figure anything out .

Also found under sink fridge connected to hot water and DW connected to cold water, switched fill hoses around so that fridge is rxing cold water and DW rxing hot water.

How do I turn on the ice maker on a Beko French door fridge?
French door models like the BFFD3624ZSS leave the factory with the ice maker off. The toggle is the Freezer Temp Set key. Keep your finger on it for three seconds and the ice maker switches on, or off if it was running. A crossed-out ice cube icon means it's off. Once it's running, give the bin one to two days to fill.
Why is my Beko refrigerator gurgling?
Gurgling, bubbling or spraying sounds are refrigerant and liquid moving through the cooling system, and Beko calls that normal. You might also hear fans, plus a click or hum when the compressor starts. Grinding, loud buzzing or a scraping fan aren't normal, especially when temperatures are climbing, and you should have those checked.
What does the red exclamation mark on my Beko fridge mean?
That's the high-temperature warning on Beko French door models, and it shows up with the freezer temperature flashing. It means that sometime after the first 72 hours of running, the freezer got warmer than it should. Press Alarm Off to silence it, and the icon clears once the freezer gets back below about 16°F. If it never recovers, the cooling system needs service.
Do I have to defrost my Beko refrigerator?
Most Beko refrigerators sold in the US are no-frost models that defrost automatically, so you never have to do it by hand. Older or compact static-cooling models are different. Defrost those once the frost builds to about a quarter inch, and plan on doing it roughly monthly. Heavy frost inside a no-frost model means a defrost system fault or a door that isn't sealing.
