Frigidaire, part of Electrolux, is one of the most common kitchen brands, from top-freezer and side-by-side refrigerators to gas and electric ranges, dishwashers and microwaves.
The brand started at a refrigerator company in Fort Wayne, Indiana, then spent sixty years as a division of General Motors. Sweden's Electrolux has owned it since 1986. Today the Frigidaire name covers nearly everything in the kitchen and laundry room. That means top-freezer, bottom-freezer, side-by-side and French door refrigerators, upright and chest freezers, gas and electric ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, microwaves, plus washers and dryers.
Since Electrolux owns both brands, Frigidaire and Electrolux share a warranty program and support articles, and in a lot of cases they share control platforms too. You'll see it on front-load washers, where a Frigidaire throws the same E11, E21 and E41 codes an Electrolux does.
Laundry is the easy part. A dryer's tag runs across the top of the door opening. Top-load washers have theirs under the lid, on the back edge of the tub opening, and front-loaders put it on the door trim. On a dishwasher, check the right side of the tub or the inside edge of the door. Microwaves show it with the door open, either on the left side panel or the interior side trim.
In the kitchen, a cooktop has to be lifted, since the tag is underneath its base. Wall ovens keep it on the trim along the inside of the opening. A range might have it on the frame behind the storage drawer, on its left side panel, or on the side trim inside the oven. Chest freezers are the odd ones out, with the tag outside on the left wall just over the access panel, while uprights use the trim inside the door. Refrigerators have it up high inside the fresh food section. French door and side-by-side models use the right wall, and top-freezers use the left.
Snap a clear photo of the whole tag, and make sure the letters and digits at the very end of the model number are readable. That one picture makes parts lookup a lot faster.
Frigidaire's standard limited warranty on major appliances lasts one year from the original purchase, and Electrolux runs it. Damage from non-genuine parts isn't covered. Neither are bulbs, filters, spoiled food or rust. Coverage differs from one model and purchase year to the next, so your own paperwork has the final say.

Electrolux, the Swedish appliance maker, has owned Frigidaire since 1986, when it bought White Consolidated Industries. Before that the brand belonged to General Motors from 1919 to 1979. Frigidaire's North American operations are based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and warranty service goes through Electrolux.
Frigidaire major appliances come with one year of limited coverage, and the clock starts on the day you bought it or had it delivered. If a part fails because of how it was made, that's covered, assuming the appliance was set up and run the way the instructions say. Light bulbs, filters, lost food and rust are not. Your warranty sheet or receipt will show exactly what's covered on your model.
Frigidaire gives 45°F to 110°F as the room range most of its fridges are built for, and your model's manual has its exact limits. A Minnesota or Wisconsin garage in winter drops well below that, and the freezer section can end up warm. Read your manual before you move it out there.
Frigidaire recommends a fresh filter twice a year. Some units also keep track of how much water has passed through and turn on the filter light at roughly 125 gallons, even if six months haven't gone by. A clogged filter, or one that isn't seated right, is one of the most common reasons water dispenses slowly and the ice maker quits filling.
The trip and diagnostic fee depends on the appliance, starting at $129. Your technician quotes the repair upfront using the Appliance Blue Book, before any work begins.
Repairs you pay us for directly come with a 10-year warranty on parts and a 60-day labor warranty. When a manufacturer, home warranty company or other third party pays for the repair, that company's warranty applies instead.
