Gas burner won't light, or won't stop clicking
On Frigidaire gas ranges, the most frequent cause is a burner cap that isn't sitting flat and centered on its head. A seated cap shouldn't slide around. Spills that plug the little ignition port cause the same trouble. Clicking that keeps going after the burner lights, or clicking with the knob off, points to a spark switch or a wiring fault.
Oven not heating, gas or electric
When the cooktop works but a gas oven doesn't, a weak bake or broil igniter is the likely culprit. It can glow without getting hot enough to open the gas valve, so the oven never lights.
Electric ovens that won't heat, or heat unevenly, are most likely dealing with a bake or broil element that has blistered or broken. In many cases you can spot the damage just by looking.
Temperature trouble is a different story. The oven temperature sensor reports to the control board, and a failing sensor or a board fault can cause drifting temperatures, F codes, or an oven that quits in the middle of a bake.
The F codes Frigidaire owners see most
Codes and meanings vary by model and control. These come up most on Frigidaire electronic oven controls.
| Code | What it usually means |
|---|
| F10 | Runaway temperature. The oven is hotter than it should be, or heating when it shouldn't. Turn it off and don't use it until it's been checked. |
| F11 | A touchpad key or selector is shorted or stuck. |
| F30 / F31 | The oven temperature sensor circuit is open (F30) or shorted (F31). |
| F90 series | A fault in the door lock motor or latch, tied to self-clean in most cases. |
Frigidaire's own advice for any F code is to press Cancel and try again. If it comes back, cut power for five minutes and then reset the clock. A code that keeps returning needs a technician.
Stuck locked after self-clean
The door stays locked until the oven cools, roughly an hour after the cycle finishes. If it's still locked long after that, or you see an F90-series code, the lock motor or latch switch needs attention.
Before you run a self-clean, take out the racks and anything else inside. Wipe up big spills first and leave the door gasket alone, no scrubbing. Frigidaire warns against using commercial oven cleaners inside a self-cleaning oven.
Worth trying before a tech comes out
- Reseat the burner caps, and with all burners off, clear a plugged ignition port with a straightened paper clip.
- If the keypad won't respond, make sure the oven lock isn't on.
- Check the breaker. A flashing clock means the power was interrupted.
- After the range has been moved, confirm the anti-tip bracket is engaged.
- When baking runs a little hot or cold, remember that many Frigidaire controls let you shift the oven offset by up to 35°F, which is often a better fix than a new sensor.
To find the model number, check the oven's interior side trim, the left side panel, or the frame behind the storage drawer. Some models hide the tag under a removable lower front panel.
