"Customers concerned that when they run the dryer they get a kerosene type smell. The customer did inform me that they did some staining a few days ago and the smell seem to start around the same time they did the staining in the garage. I check the airflow on the dryer and the airflow outside is in the 20 mile an hour range. I ran the dryer on high heat, the dryer cut up to about 190?. I removed the lint screen and found it restricted with soap and fabric softener buildup. I clean the screen really good and put it back in the dryer. I ran a dryer for 25 minutes on high heat and the smell is a lot better now. I advise the customer to clean the lint screen often and kerosene smell after staining or using oil base paint can happen."

"Leaks, I was able to see evidence of the leak although I never was able to re-create while I was on site. I checked the errors and called GE to see if there were any known issues with leaking from the soap tray. The only thing GE noted was if the machine is not level it can cause leaking from the soap tray. This is a stacked unit and the customer ahead and stacked it and moved it out of its standard place. Its possible that it does tip forward with the weight of the dryer on top of it and its final resting point. I adjusted the feet and advised customer to double check level once its in place at loaded. No issues were found was not able to re-create issue."

The complaint is the freezer is not holding temp and has been getting worse for about a month. I had the customer remove the food from the freezer. I removed the evaporator cover and found frost building up mostly on the right side of the evaporator. The left side of the evaporator was slightly cold and my wet finger would not stick to the coil. This is a static cools condenser model. I pulled the fridge out to feel the temperature of the condenser soils. The coils are room temp. The refrigerator is loosing coolant and it will until its empty then it will not cool anymore. I pulled apart the hose and found it ran through the floor but there was a restriction where there was a buildup of corn and food and then a chip from a dish. The customer said after he replaced the door gasket because it was leaking now it wont fill with water. I found the float switch assembly was loose so it was falling down and the switch was closing. I tightened the float and it started to fill. When it runs it sounds like the door is open. After inspecting the new gasket it looked like it was instated backwards. I switched the gasket around and it sounded better. Their were some crease in the gasket which could cause it to leak. I advised the customer if it leaks the gasket may need to be heated and stretched so the creases flatten out.

"Customer complaint is, COOLING FAN RUNS CONTINUOUSLY. Inspected and tested. Customer had breaker off when I got here. I turned breaker back on and the cooling fans were off. I started both ovens and the cooling fans came on. I shut the ovens off and within a few minutes the cooling fans turned off. I did this 6 different times and the cooling fans turned off every time. Oven is operating normal while Im testing it. Both doors are bent a little and scrape on the top right corner a little. The top door more than the bottom door. I let customer know about this."

"Customer complaint is, NOT COOLING. Inspected and tested. FF compartment was at 48F and freezer was 60F. Fans and compressor are all running. The only error I got was freezer ice maker thermistor and theres no ice maker in the freezer. I removed the freezer evaporator cover and there was no frost on evaporator. I put it into freezer only cooling and after 20 minutes, there was only frost on about 5-10 percent. The sealed system has failed. Dana can you call this in please. ; saved tckt"

The customer said the dryer is taking a long time to dry. I did a air flow test and it was bad. No air is sucking down from the lint trap filter. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and the air flow was good. I verify theres no restriction on the back of the dryer. Advise the customer she needs the dryer vent cleaned ASAP and not to use the dryer or we can overheat and pop a fuse.

"Fridge making a funny sound from one of the fans. I put into forced defrost in the fresh food section, and defrost works great. Ran condenser fan and evaporator fans and they run well too. Compressor sounded loud, I moved fridge a little and now where its sitting it runs quiet. She said compressor seems to run a lot, and I recommended she change the settings from -8 and 34 to 0 and 36, which we then changed. Temps currently at -8 and 34."
