JennAir builds luxury ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, refrigerators and dishwashers, and is part of the Whirlpool family.
JennAir got its start in Indianapolis in 1947, when Louis Jenn was building industrial fans. That fan know-how is where the brand's signature idea came from. The downdraft cooktop pulls smoke and steam down through the cooking surface instead of sending it up into a hood. Maytag bought JennAir in 1982, and when Whirlpool Corporation acquired Maytag in 2006, JennAir came along with it. It's been a Whirlpool brand ever since.
The current lineup is broad. You'll find built-in and column refrigeration, professional-style gas and dual-fuel ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, downdraft and hood ventilation, dishwashers and warming drawers. Most of it comes in two design styles, RISE and NOIR. On wall ovens, NOIR means dark glass outside and a black interior. The style is cosmetic, though. It doesn't change how the appliance gets serviced.
Newer JennAir column refrigerators use something the brand calls Trinity Cooling, which splits the column into three temperature zones, each with its own sensor. So when only one zone runs warm, the likely cause is that zone's sensor, damper or airflow, not the whole cooling system.
A lot of JennAir refrigerators and dishwashers are panel-ready and wear custom cabinet panels. That extra weight has to be accounted for when a door gets aligned or a hinge adjusted, and for some repairs the unit has to slide out of its opening.
Many wall ovens have V2 vertical dual-fan convection, two counter-rotating vertical fans paired with a dedicated convection element. When regular bake works fine but convection bakes unevenly, look toward a fan motor or the convection element.
Recent ovens also get a 7-inch color touchscreen and app control. Connected models carry a separate white SAID label that's used to pair the app. Don't mistake it for the model and serial tag. They're two different labels.
It moves around depending on the appliance, so start with the one that's giving you trouble.
Snap a photo of the tag with your phone. It saves a lot of back and forth when parts need to be matched.
JennAir's current warranty paperwork lists two years of parts and labor. After that, the sealed refrigeration system (compressor, evaporator, condenser, dryer and tubing) keeps extra coverage, with labor included for several years and then parts only. Older refrigerators were sold with shorter terms. Your warranty sheet or receipt will show exactly what's covered on your model. Manufacturer warranty claims are handled through JennAir's own authorized service network.
Keep the refrigerator's grille and toe-kick openings clear so the condenser can breathe, and change the water filter on schedule if your model has one. After a big load of warm groceries, use the Max Cool setting instead of cranking every zone to its coldest. Clean the downdraft filters regularly, too. Once they're loaded with grease, airflow drops and the blower has to work harder.
A JennAir kitchen in Naples or on Marco Island is packed with electronics, from touch controls to Wi-Fi boards to refrigerator control modules. The Red Cross advises unplugging appliances and electronics during an outage, so a surge doesn't hit them when the power comes back, and keeping your surge protection current. A built-in refrigerator is hard to unplug, but switching off its breaker during the outage does the same job. Keep the refrigerator and freezer doors shut, too. Food stays safe for about 4 hours in a closed refrigerator and about 48 hours in a full freezer.

Back-left burner had shorted infinite switch?swapped switch with griddle burner to restore power; unit working fine.
“A valiant effort was made, but a 60 plus year old Jenn Air cooktop is too fragile to warrant further investment.”

Found refrigerator low on charge. Pressurized system with nitrogen. Used refrigerant leak detect to check all solder joints. Found leak detect going off in freezer and at filter drier. Disassembled freezer and rewelded solder joints. Rewelded solder joints at filter drier. Pressurized sealed system again with nitrogen at 250psi. Used leak detector to check for leaks again. Is not going off but is possibly detecting residual refrigerant. Worried there may be a small internal leak. Held sealed system pressurized at 250psi for roughly 30 minutes while reassembling freezer. Pressure did not drop. Pulled vacuum and weighed in charge. R134a at 6.00oz. Advised again to allow 24-48 hours for refrigerator to reach temp.
“Very attentive to our problem. Explained things well. Repaired the fridge”

The end of the gasket was pulling out. Stretched the gasket and got it back in good. I did not need to replace it. The customer looked at it and thought it was good.

Model JDB1250AWS
Water was leaking out the back side of the water inlet where it seals against the tub. I removed the inlet and seal. I cleaned the seal and reinstalled the inlet and made sure the inlet cover was on tight. I tried it again and it did not leak. If it happens again it will need the water inlet, gasket and inlet cover.
Model JSD2695KES
Not cooling. The compressor was locked up, I tried a hard start but it did not work. The owner of the rental property declined repairs or quotes she needs a unit now
“Quick service, professional. Even though it wasn’t cost effective to fix, they were honest about it.”
Diane S.
Model JDS1750ES0
Oven not working, just beeping, down draft not working. Everything worked for me. Put in test mode, no errors. All burners work. Put on broil, heats great. Put on bake in test mode, heats great. On regular bake it was not quite up to temp. I put in calibration mode and recalibrated it up 30 degrees. Recommended turning off range at breaker in future if it goes haywire on control pad. Also said it could be that the control pad and main PCB were having an issue. But all is working now. Mechanically the down draft works and sounds great now.
“Nate was prompt and knowledgeable. Unbeknownst to us, the problem corrected itself before his arrival. He was able to explain what had happened and advise us on handling any further occurrence. He did some other checks and corrections on the appliance as requested. Highly recommend this company. We will rely on them in the future”

Yes. Omega Force Appliance Repair is a factory-authorized JennAir service provider.
It is now. JennAir started out as an independent Indianapolis company in 1947. Maytag bought it in 1982, and it became part of Whirlpool Corporation in 2006 when Whirlpool acquired Maytag. Today it's Whirlpool's luxury brand, sold next to the company's mainstream brands but with its own design styles and product lines.
On most freestanding and slide-in JennAir ranges, the model and serial tag sits on the oven frame or on the frame of the storage drawer. Open the oven door or pull out the drawer and check along the edges. Professional-style ranges are different, with the tag on the ceiling of the oven cavity. A flashlight helps, and a photo of the tag saves time later.
They're JennAir's two design styles, and both are offered across the same appliance categories, so you can get matching pieces in either one. A NOIR wall oven, for example, has a dark glass front and a black interior. The difference is looks only. Diagnosis and repair work the same way no matter which style you picked.
That label is how a connected JennAir appliance pairs with the app. It isn't the model and serial tag, which is a separate label. Where you'll find it depends on the product. It might be inside the dishwasher door, inside a range's lower drawer, on the underside of a cooktop, or on the display or inside the door of a wall oven.
The trip and diagnostic fee depends on the appliance, starting at $129. Your technician quotes the repair upfront using the Appliance Blue Book, before any work begins.
Repairs you pay us for directly come with a 10-year warranty on parts and a 60-day labor warranty. When a manufacturer, home warranty company or other third party pays for the repair, that company's warranty applies instead.
