Fast, professional Miele dishwasher repair from technicians who know high-end appliances. Same or next business day on most calls.
A Miele dishwasher keeps track of its own fill, drain, heating and leak protection. When something drifts out of range, it stops and shows a fault number. Lots of faults have a simple cause you can check yourself. Others are internal failures that need a technician. Current G 5000 and G 7000 models also show plain-text messages, like Drainage or Check filters.
| Code | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| F11 | Water isn't draining. Look for a blocked drain pump or a non-return valve under the filter that's out of place. |
| F12, F13, F15 | Water inlet blocked or restricted, from a closed faucet, dirty inlet filter, kinked hose or low water pressure |
| F14 | Circulation pump stuck, which is common after long idle periods, or a fault in the pump pressure or heating-level switch |
| F24 | Heating relay contact fault that needs a technician |
| F70 | The Waterproof system has reacted because it found water where it shouldn't be |
| F78 | Circulation pump blocked or dried out |
Codes and meanings vary by model and series, so check the operating manual for your exact machine. The code tells you which system caught the problem, and that may not be the part that failed.
Miele notes that the circulation pump can dry out and stick after weeks or months of sitting, and the dishwasher then shows F14 or F78. That lines up with the Southwest Florida homes that stay closed through the summer. When you get back, turn the water on fully before the first cycle.
Should a pump fault come up anyway, Miele has its own fix. With the lower spray arm and filter out of the way, add roughly a liter of hot water mixed with a few drops of rinse aid. Keep that water at 165°F or below. Let it soak for five minutes, reassemble everything and start the program again. Two or three rounds of this is fine. A fault that keeps coming back means the pump needs service.
For wet dishes or spots, refill the rinse aid or turn up the dispensing setting, and pick a program with a drying phase. Plastics take longer, so use extra dry if your model has it. On models with a water softener, white residue calls for filling the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt and setting the softener to a higher water hardness.
Then there's siphoning. When the drain connection sits lower than the lower basket rails, water can siphon out during the cycle and dishes come out poorly washed. Miele builds in a vent valve for this, and an installer can open it.
Miele's testing standard goes as far as 20 years of use. Plenty of Miele dishwashers sit behind a custom panel, so replacing one can mean new panel work on top of a new machine. Pumps, inlet valves, heaters and door parts can all be replaced, which makes repair the normal choice. Check your paperwork first, because Miele offers extended coverage of up to 10 years on some purchases.

The Waterproof system has picked up water somewhere it shouldn't be. Per Miele, the machine stops whatever cycle it was running and starts pumping water out. Close the faucet, turn the dishwasher off and unplug it, which stops the pump, then book service. It shouldn't go back into use until the leak has been found and repaired.
On many Miele models, F11 means water isn't draining. In most cases glass or some other debris has blocked the drain pump, or the non-return valve isn't seated correctly. Unplug the machine, take out the filter and scoop out the standing water. Then clean the non-return valve and check that the pump impeller turns. If F11 comes back after that, the drain pump may need replacing.
Whenever the display says Check filters. That reminder comes up every 50 programs by default, and you can set it anywhere from 30 to 60 in the settings menu. Lift out the filter combination, rinse it under running water and make sure it lies flat in the base when it goes back. A heavily used machine may need cleaning more often.
Both are water-inlet faults. Miele lists four causes, in this order. The faucet is closed, the small filter in the inlet hose fitting is dirty, the inlet hose is kinked, or the water pressure is too low, meaning under 7.25 psi. There's an electrical valve inside that fitting, so never dunk it in water. When the supply checks out and the fault sticks around, book service.
Rinse aid is the first thing to check, since low or empty rinse aid is the most common cause. Confirm your program includes a drying phase, and use extra dry for plastics if you have it. Load things so water can run off, and unload the bottom basket first. On models without AutoOpen, keep the door shut for about 15 minutes after the cycle ends.
The trip and diagnostic fee starts at $129. Your technician quotes the repair upfront using the Appliance Blue Book, before any work begins, so you can decide with no surprises.
