The customers dryer is tumbling and producing air flow but the gas burner isnt igniting. Customer also told me that the machine would not advance to complete selected dry cycle. I found the high limit thermistor, thermal fuse and cycling thermistor all check out, resistance and continuity. There wasnt voltage to the gas valve or ignition coil, so I looked at the timer and found that there were open contacts inside the timer with resistance tests while the timer was engaged in a dry cycle but not running. I looked for a replacement timer and they are no longer available or manufactured.

The customers dryer produced a N5 error code, refers to a motor output short. Accessed tech data sheets online, worked through the diagnostic steps referring to the motor.Resistance measured at 2,500 volts.I checked for continuity at the start and run terminals with and without the actuator depressed, no defects found that way. The heater circuit too, continuity present. I measured resistance between the start, run/main windings and protector, motor windings check out that way too. I replaced the output board that was sent with me, started the appliance and verified that the dryer heats, tumbles and produces air flow. No need for other repairs.

Replaced the element, put back together, cycled and tested making sure the unit got to the correct temperature. Showed the customer how to adjust the temperature, the unit said it was preheated before it was at temperature once it was at temperature it held the correct temperature after opening the door.

I replaced the left and right drawer rails for the fresh food convenience drawer. The hardware replacement didnt have the desired effect, the left side still has a slight gap at the front. The hole location for the rail screws must not be exactt between the left and right sides. Theres nothing more to be done for this cosmetic issue. Maybe adding food to the drawer would have a positive effect.
