REFRIGERATION ISSUES, WATER LEAKMOISTURE, WATER LEAK UNDER REFRIGERATOR-LEAKING WATER. Customer said water was leaking from the filter after replacing. They had the water off and no filter in housing when I got here. I got access to the filter housing, reservoir and valve and turned water back on. Installed filter and tested and no leaks found. Customer also was having problems with resetting the filter light. I couldnt get it to reset, so I called techline and talked to Allan and there not using a OEM filter, so its not going to let them reset more than twice and will probably give a error. I advised customer that they need to use a OEM filter or theyre going to have issues. Case file number is 87808497.

ODOR COMING FROM DRYER AND NOT DRYING CLOTHES. Customer said there was a burning smell coming from the dryer. Started dryer on a timed dry high heat cycle and its heating, but getting to hot and cycled off at 240F. I disconnected vent and now its cycling between 200F and 120F. The vent is the problem and needs to be cleaned. I disassembled dryer and inspected inside and didnt find anything burnt. I vacuumed out inside of dryer and reassembled. Dryer vents out the second story. I advised customer to have vent cleaned before using.

NOT HEATING THEN STOPS. I started dryer on timed dry high heat and dryer is heating, but is getting to hot and got up to 270F. I disconnected vent and now its only getting to 205F and ran for 20 minutes without shutting down. We found the vent is covered on the outside of the house by the siding. This house is 5 years old and vent has been covered the entire time. I showed this to the customer and hes going to call the builder.

The bake and broil elements heat up during the preheat cycle, the oven cavity heats at a fast rate. I calibrated the user control to bake twenty five degrees warmer than factory settings, I showed the resident how they can adjust the same setting. I explained that thermometers swing setting inside the oven can provide misleading measurements.

The freezer drawer rails were misaligned and creating a warm air leak for the refrigerator freezer compartment . The defrost heater and the evaporator fan motor are both perfectly fine and not creating any problems. Complaint is that the dishwasher isnt fully draining. I checked it and it has the normal amount of water in the sump that it is supposed to. I suck the water out and checked around the drain pump and cleaned the filter. Often times the customer will have the dishwasher sittingfor multiple weeks and it can get smelly. I recommended keeping the door open a little bit and when they run it to help it freshen to use lemon juice in a bowl I made sure the drain line was looped up where it was supposed to be and I filled it and drained it five times and every time it drained perfect and the drain sounds great.

I connected to the high and low sides of the sealed system. I found the low side-5 high side around 150, indicates a leak. I pressurized the system after recovering the refrigerant. I pressurized with nitrogen up to 300 pounds and inspected for a leak with micro leak detector solution. I did not find any leaks, but pressure did slowly bleed off while I was applying solution and looking for a leak in the fresh food operator freezer evaporator and the other sealed system joints. I called GE and told them my findings and they are putting the appliance into a replacement category.
