"Customer complaint is, FLOORING WAS DONE AND WAS MOVED AND NOW IT DOESNT COOL CORRECTLY. Customer had refrigerator unplugged and completely defrosted. I removed the FF evaporator cover and both the defrost sensor and temperature sensor tested exactly the same at 5,160 ohms and were good. Defrost heater came on in test mode and fans is working. Drain is open. I did find junk in the freezer evaporator drain tube on the back side and cleaned it out. I dumped water down both drains and there draining great. I cant find anything out of space and everything is testing good. Customer is going to use it and see what happens."

I plugged it in and the low side was around 0. I found some dye on the filter drier connection. Its leaking from the drier. I replaced the drier and leaked checked. All is good. I pulled a vacuum and recharged the system.

"Not draining at all. Took apart sump area, found a rusty drill bit near the impeller. Cleaned that out from drain pump, and cleaned out some debris from sump. Took filter out and cleaned out all the fat built up on it. Then detached drain line from plumbing under the sink, and there was a 1/2 piece of plastic stuck in the plumbing that the drain line connects to. I cleaned some debris out of dishwasher tub, and ran it, making sure it fills, circulates and drains great. Looped up how the drain line should be looped. Runs great now."

The customer said the fresh food is not cooling well but the freezer is fine. Its making ice and freezing food. I found the fan in the freezer is not working and ice is built up. The customer said the fresh food door does not seal tight. I removed the door and found the door stop screws are rubbing on the door support. I put a washer on the support so the door is up higher and now the screws do not rub. I removed the freezer evaporator cover and completely defrosted the evaporator and then replaced the evaporator fan. The fan is running now and now I get cold air into the refrigerator. I advised the customer to wait 24 hours for temps to be back to normal.

The whole is not cooling good. The low pressure is in a vacuum. Put in UV drier and update the board. The customer just moved in a week ago or so. Started to loose cool about then. I used the sniffer and glass with light and found no leak on the joints or from the 2 evaps. I then pressurized it with 200 psi of nitrogen and still found nothing. I let sit for 20 minutes and nothing. I pulled a vacuum and added the leak sealant then recharged the system. I advised them to give 24 hours for it to get back to normal.

I checked over the drain pump and wash motor, made sure it drains and circulates well, and that there are no leaks. Explained to customer that part of the gasping sound was actually coming from excess detergent bubbles, and recommended switching to Finish instead of 7th generation. We talked about dishwasher cleaner, and getting a flood sensor under it since they are concerned about leaks. I put some cooking oil in it and let it run to get rid of the suds. Everything runs great."

Now the heater comes on, and it should be nice and cool in 24 hours. Shouldnt have any more sheets of ice building up on bottom of freezer.

"Replaced ice maker and i ran test and ice maker cycles but didnt fully go back to home position. I ran another test and it cycled again and appears it went back to home position and filled. I ran another test because it was acting weird, I ran test and it cycled and filled. But due to how weird it was acting weird.I already replaced ice maker and the switches are good. But still seems to be acting a bit funny. The fresh food section was warmer than it should be. The freezer section has frost all over everything. All the doors shut tight and seal tight. I took the freezer apart and found ice build up under the evaporator so no water was drawing through and ice was building up under the door. I guessing the ice build up was sometimes keeping the door from closing tight. I defrosted the ice and cleared the drain. I verified the duct was clear and the fans are working. I advised the customer to let cool for 24 hours.

The customer said the whole unit stopped cooling within 24 hours. The compressor comes on but sounded abnormal. I tried to tap in the system but when I bent the suction line to attach a tap the line started to leak. I just replaced the compressor and filter. I pressurized with nitrogen and flushed with nitrogen. I pulled a vacuum then recharged the system. I replaced the main board. I advised the customers to wait 6-8 hours for it to cook and 24 before they fill it all the way back up.

"Freezer has been warming up. He purchased this as a used unit. 33 years old. Ice chute flapper assembly is covered in mold. Motor isnt working anymore. I found the chute door totally open. Allowing a 3x3 gap to sit open, allowing ambient air in. Took temps, 35 in freezer and 52 in fresh food. Icemaker was working, but stopped when freezer warmed up. Jumped T to H on Icemaker and it cycled and filled. Parts are NLA. Customer is a handyman, he is going to take little motor and chute assembly apart and clean mold off, and will seal up area so that warm air doesnt come into freezer."

The customer said the freezer is not holding temp at 0 and the ice maker is not making ice. The freezer temp is in the twenties and the fresh food is around 45. I removed the freezer evaporator and found the frost pattern is not good. Only the top coil has frost on it. The compressor is running and the discharge line was room temp. It has a sealed system issue and most likely needs a fresh food evaporator and compressor. The evaporator is known to leak and then suck in moisture that can damage the compressor. I sent the customer a quote for the repair. I would need 3 hours on return. I did add some refrigerant just so it can cool a little better until its repaired or replaced. They will call us if they want it repaired.
