E11 and other slow-fill trouble
Electrolux front-loaders time how long the fill takes. When water comes in too slowly, look for a faucet that's partly closed, a kinked hose, clogged inlet screens or a water inlet valve on its way out. Swapped hot and cold hoses are a known installation mistake, and newer models flag that as HO SE.
Leaks at the door or the dispenser
Hair, lint and small objects stuck in the rubber door boot cause most door leaks. A boot that has torn needs replacing. Dispenser leaks come from a drawer that isn't fully closed, compartments that aren't seated, buildup inside the drawer, or water pressure that's too high.
Slow draining, which shows as E21, comes from a kinked drain hose or a pump clogged with debris in most cases. Heavy detergent use can slow it down too.
Door codes E41 and E42 show up when the control can't see the door closed and locked, which it needs before it'll run. Clothing in the seal can trigger them. Otherwise, suspect a worn latch or lock assembly.
A spin that sounds wrong
A high whine during spin is normal. A rumble or grind that gets louder as spin speed rises is not, and it points to worn tub bearings or a cracked spider arm. When the washer fills and drains but the drum won't turn, the motor or its hall sensor is a likely suspect.
Electrolux front-load codes
These are Electrolux's own codes, and not every model shows every one.
| Code | What it usually means |
|---|
| E11 | Long fill time. The washer isn't filling the way it should. |
| E21 | Long pump-out time. Water is draining too slowly. |
| E35 | Overfill. The pressure sensor reads more water in the drum than there should be. |
| E41 | The door reads as open to the control, even if it looks shut. |
| E42 | The door lock isn't being recognized. |
| SU dS | Too many suds. The washer adds rinses to clear them. |
| HO SE | The hot and cold fill hoses are on the wrong inlets. |
| LOC | Control lock is on. |
Things to rule out first
- Clean the door boot and glass, and check the seal for anything caught in it.
- The drain standpipe should be no taller than 96 inches and at least 1¼ inches wide, and it shouldn't be sealed airtight around the hose.
- Close the dispenser drawer all the way, and if it leaks during fill, try turning the faucets down to about half.
- On a new install, confirm the shipping bolts are out and the washer sits level.
- Tighten fill hose connections by hand plus about a half turn, since overtightening can crack them.
The model and serial tag is on the trim around the door opening, visible once you open the door.
