Notes from real Omega Force service calls: the appliance, the problem we found and how we fixed it.

The customer said that sometimes the ice will jamb while its being dispensed from the door. Today the ice bucket was half full but some ice was clumped and stuck together but it would still dispense cubes. I verified the flap closes tight and warm air is not leaking into the ice bin. I took the ice maker out and cleaned the ice maker. I cleaned the crust out of the ice maker fill tube. I ran a test cycle and it filled good. I open the left door and held a magnet over the top switch and the ice maker fan came on and blew air out the vent. The freezer temp is at 0 and ice cream is hard. No error codes. If happens again could be a ice maker issue. I did not use any parts sent.
Unit wasnt heating. Disassembled dryer and found all the thermostats were good. The heater on the other hand was burnt out. Replaced heater that Jared ordered because of the FaceTime calling which the customer was super happy to get one day service and repair.
Customer complaint is, making a loud vibrating noise. Inspected and found the condenser coils are vibrating. I adjusted the foam that was in there and added some more and now it sounds great.

Customer complaint is, was running and opened to pull out clothes and then shut door and now no repsonse, reset no help. Inspected and tested. Found the thermal fuse had failed. Customer approved repairs. Installed new thermal fuse and tested. Dryer is heating great and airflow is good. Dryer is now fixed.

Replaced ice maker assembly and ran through test mode and everything is operating correctly.

The dryer would not heat on any setting. I found the heater coil was bad. I replaced the heater assembly. The dryer heats up good now.

The dishwasher was not installed correctly. I did the best I could with what I had. I had to remove the mounting bracket and cut the ends off and them put them back on the right way. The dishwasher would still slip back when the lower rack pulled out. I did not have long enough screws to secure the bottom so I used plumbing strap to secure the feet. If it looses up again they will need to have the original installed come fix the issue. Theres no issue with the dishwasher.

Customers complaint is that they can hear a high-pitched noise coming from between the cabinet and the refrigerator. Upon arrival and inspection I was able to hear a faint noise from the compressor and customer identified it as the sound. Overtime this sound changed. I tested all the fans and all systems walked through it and only when the coolant gases pressurize does this noise occur. I explain to the customer how the system works and that she is hearing the noise of the compressor working and doing its job. I looked at her freezer door handle and found that had a broken tab on the retainer clips. I replaced it with some that have been supplied by GE previously. The freezer door was heavy because the freezer was loaded completely. I advise the customer to use a lubricant on the door glides and after installing the new clip I was able to open and close with one hand grabbing the center of the handle. The refrigerator is working as designed. The noise is not an alarming noise or a noise caused by a failure but simply just the workings of the machine. The only way this noise will go away is if the compressor is replaced.
