BACKSTORY

Hey, I’m Tom! I’ve been working as an appliance repair technician since 2016, but my background also includes commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and hot-side repair work. I graduated with a diploma in HVAC and refrigeration repair back in 2013 and have been honing my skills ever since. There’s nothing more satisfying to me than troubleshooting a tough repair and getting it right.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—camping and fishing in the summer, hunting in the fall. I’m also big into music and play several instruments, including accordion, banjo, and guitar. Occasionally, I even jam with a fast-paced rock band back in Minneapolis. I enjoy tinkering, whether it’s working on vehicles, ATVs, or learning something new.

Vent a hood making vibration sound when it t gets to full rpms. Found excessive amount of grease build up on blower wheels. Removed both blower wheels and cleaned. Customer cleaned at sink. Reinstalled blower wheels and secured. Vent hood is now running normally.

Frigidaire refrigerator leaking water from water dispenser housing. Found broken water tubing at nipple of tubing where it connects to water filter housing. Cut out nipple and connected water tubing to water filter housing. Turned water supply on. Tested operations. Ran multiple cups of water. Verified no water leaks at water filter housing.

Frigidaire refrigerator customer stated will make a loud noise. Customer showed me a video of the loud noise. Sounds like a fan motor making contact with ice build up. Unloaded freezer. Disassembled freezer. Found no ice build up on or around evaporator fan motor. Made minor adjustments to fan motor blade. Reassembled freezer. Possible that product may have been being pushed against back wall of freezer causing fan motor to hit shroud of fan motor assembly. Pushed on back wall and am unable to recreate loud noise. Cycled ice maker. No loud noise heard while ice maker harvested and filled with water. Loud noise did not present itself while on site. Advised of issue continues to power off ice maker to see if that changes anything with issue. Ice maker does not have it own fan motor and uses the evaporator fan motor. Advised to try not to have product pressed against back wall of freezer.

Fisher Paykel dishwasher lower door hard to open. Found door lid in downward position not allowing door to open and close properly. Powered dishwasher on to allow lid actuators to open. Lower door is now opening closing properly at this time.
